This is a fascinating account of the development of the use of huskies who first stepped ashore in Antarctica on February 17, 1899 and left their paw marks on the ice for the very last time 95 years later in 1994.
It includes the history of huskies used by Australian Douglas Mawson, Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen, and British heroes Robert Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton. Originally published in Australia, in 2018, this UK edition is slightly rewritten and includes eight additional pages of photos.
