On 12 May 1926 the airship Norge under the leadership of Roald Amundsen reached the North Pole from Svalbard and continued to Alaska. For Amundsen it was the culmination of a lifelong dream, almost 30 years after his first polar expedition as first mate on Belgica and 15 years after he reached the South Pole.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the “Norge” flight, the Fram Museum are proud to present a new temporary exhibition covering the famous expedition.
