Description

On January 19, 1930, Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd welcomed the overland explorers back to the Antarctic base camp. These men had traversed more than 1,500 miles of uncharted territory to bring back answers to questions about the geologic history of the seventh continent. They had transported their three months´supplies by dog sled; they themselves had skied the entire distance.
