On Roald Amundsens flight expeditions to 88 degrees North in 1926, one of the pilots, Leif Dietrichson, brought with him a toy monkey. After the two planes crash landed in the Arctic the crew were ordered to loose all excess weight, but Leif didn´t want to part with his monkey, so he hid it under his jacket. They managed to lift off and go home. Surely this is a lucky stuffed monkey!
