Fram Museum Oslo

Tara Polar Station, the unique scientific vessel that will study the Central Arctic Ocean for the next twenty years, is in Oslo for an historical moment at the FRAM Museum.

After its first test campaign in the Arctic, Tara Polar Station, the drifting polar base of the Tara Ocean Foundation that will study the impact of climate change and the unique central arctic ocean biodiversity, is Oslo for a stopover in front of the FRAM museum, a symbolic location. Historically, Nansen’s ship, the Fram, gave its name to the Fram Strait, which Tara crossed in 2008 and which Tara Polar Station will reach in 2027 at the end of its first Arctic expedition, following the same transpolar current as the Norwegian navigator.
