Fram Museum Oslo

The Fram Museum Is Open Again

Tomorrow, on May 8th at 12, the Fram museum will open again for the first time since the order came to close on March 13. We are planning to keep the museum open every day for the rest of the year at normal hours. The museum has not been closed for this long since the beginning of the 1980´s, when the museum was closed in winter.

This will be challenging considering all the care that has to be taken when it comes to cleaning, distance and other methods to stop the spreading, but we mean it is important to get employees back to work and be able to have a cultural offer to the people of Oslo and other travelers.

The Fram museum has not yet received any signals about compensation for the loss of income from ticket sales, like other museums on Bygdøy got last week, but we are living in the hope that there will be made no difference between the museums. We therefore mean it is justifiable to open the museum, even though we do not expect a great flow of visitors to start with.

In the period of May 8th to June 15th, we will only be able to have 50 visitors in the museum at once.
